Hillsborough Mom Named Among Murder Suspects in Peninsula Man's Death

Three local residents were arrested in connection to the death of Keith Green, according to the sheriff's office.

BURLINGAME, CA- Three people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a Millbrae man whose body was found in the North Bay earlier this month, sheriff's officials announced Monday.

"The arrests came on the heels of an intensive investigation into Green’s suspicious disappearance, which subsequently turned into a homicide after his body was found in Sonoma County near the town of Healdsburg," San Mateo County Sheriff's Det. Salvador Zuno said in a news release.

The Arrests

Though the motive and exact circumstances surrounding Green's death are still being investigated, Zuno said that the three suspects were arrested following the service of two search warrants in the Peninsula.

"The information gathered during the investigation, allowed detectives to obtain two search warrants for a residence in Burlingame and a residence in Hillsborough," he said. "Both search warrants were served by Sheriff’s detectives with the assistance of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s SWAT team, Crisis Negotiation Unit and the local police agency."

The first warrant was served on Friday, in the 1800 block of Trousdale in Burlingame. Following that search, , 40-year-old Olivier Adella of Burlingame was arrested.

Then, on Saturday morning, law enforcement officials served a second warrant in the 600 block of West Santa Inez in Hillsborough, according to Zuno. There, they arrested 29 year-old Kaveh Bayat of Hillsborough and the mother of Green's children-- who is now Bayat's girlfriend-- 30-year-old Tiffany Li.

The Disappearance

Green was first reported missing on April 29, when he didn't come home after meeting with his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Li, at the Millbrae Pancake House the night before, according to Zuno.

Officials immediately pegged the disappearance as suspicious, as Green left his wallet, car and other belongings behind. His phone was later found at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park by a hiker.

It wasn't until nearly two weeks later that police would find him. On May 11, a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy found a decomposing body near a homeless encampment between Healdsburg and Geyserville. The body was soon identified as that of Green, and an autopsy ruled his death a homicide, Zuno said.

"Detectives are still processing evidence as they continue to build a case against the three suspects, and try to ascertain the motive behind Green’s death," the detective said.

All three suspects were booked into the Redwood City jail on suspicion of murder and conspiracy, Zuno said. They were being held without bail, and are scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
