How Can I Become More Plastic Free?

Bring a bag of plastic to recycle

Recycling experts will explain how to reduce plastic waste at the Citizens Environmental Council's event on Sept. 13, "How Can I Become More Plastic Free?" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. It will take place at the new Burlingame Community Center, 850 Burlingame Ave. Admission is free, but preregistration is required at https://tinyurl.com/CECplasticfree.

Recycling expert Shirley Freriks will suggest ways people reduce plastic usage, Alexandra Rinear of Recology will explain how to make sure plastic gets recycled and doesn’t wind up in landfill, Laura Porter of Byrd’s Filling Station in San Mateo will promote shopping without using plastic, and Karen Noryko of Ridwell will introduce a service that picks up plastic for recycling from front porches.
