Coinciding with San Francisco's hosting of the America's Cup Races
this summer, the Legion of Honor, San Francisco is presenting - Impressionists On The Water - more than 80 remarkable paintings and works on paper which demonstrate the Impressionists' fascination with boating.
Works by Monet, Caillebotte, Renoir, Pissarro, and other
artists whose breathtaking artistry reflects their own deep
understanding of pleasure boating and competition are on display. In
the countryside, west of Paris, new patterns of life, including the idea
of middle-class leisure, were taking shape.
Join Museum Docent, Kay Payne, as she presents a slide show and lecture about the Impressionists On The Water exhibition, on view from June 1 through October 13, 2013 at the Legion of Honor, San Francisco.
