Free event honors volunteers, offers free tours of firehouse

Burlingame residents are invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Coffee on Saturday, May 12, hosted by the Burlingame Neighborhood Network and the Central County Fire Department. It will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fire Station 34 at 799 California Drive in Burlingame. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

At this event, Mayor Michael Brownrigg will recognize neighborhood leaders, CERTs and Ham radio operators who had leadership roles in the Citywide Emergency Drill last October as well as CERTs and Hams who help on a regular basis with other Burlingame drills and events.

Coffee, juice, fruit and pastries will be provided. There will be a light breakfast, firehouse tours, a rescue truck on display and a free prize drawing.
