Kids' Summer Activities Around Town
School is out, now what? Check out the many kid-friendly camps and activities in Burlingame.

These age-specific day camps are packed with activities for your kids. Discovery Days Camp for third through fifth graders and Extreme Adventures Camp for sixth to ninth graders will even go on a field trip to a San Francisco Giants vs. Dodgers game. Formerly called the Coyote Point Museum, CuriOdyssey is a hands-on children’s science museum. Take your little ones here for a fun, educational afternoon or sign them up for summer camp sessions. A new exhibit called Backyard Science opened up on June 26. Highlights include ambient sound tubes and a test of “superhuman” vision. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (62+), $6 for students (13-17) and $4 for children (2-12). CuriOdyssey is located on 1651 Coyote Point Dr., San Mateo CA.

Movies are free of charge and begin at 8 p.m. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome and concessions will be sold. Washington Park is located at 850 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame CA.
Children in grades one through five can earn a free paperback book for reading at least six books this summer. Just pick up a reading log at the Burlingame Library (or download it here), and turn it in between June 13 through July 31 for a paperback. Kids will also receive a ticket, which enters them into the reading club grand prize raffle.
Every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., now through July 26, enjoy kids friendly entertainment and performances in the Lane Community Room of Burlingame Public Library. All events are free, but space is limited. Tickets will be made available for pick-up Saturday prior to each performance. The line-up includes Fratello Marionettes Show “The Frog Prince” and Alex Ramon Juggling Show.
Booth Lacrosse will hold an instructional Lacrosse camp at Burlingame High School for youth aged eight through 18. Camp begins July 18 through 21 and cost $395. Register on-line. Burlingame High School is located on 1 Mangini Way, Burlingame CA.
Enjoy a different artistic theme each week with Art Attack Summer Camps. Camp runs now through the week of August 15 – “How Sweet It Is” week, which explores the art of candy, chocolate and pastry making. Each week also offers a field trip, like a visit to the De Young Museum in San Francisco during “Modern Madness” week. Cost for each camp week varies, registration is available online.
