Law Enforcement Fanning Out Across Burlingame, Hillsborough in Special Traffic Safety Operation

Officers are "..working together to collectively focus on reducing the number of injuries and traffic accidents throughout San Mateo County"

BURLINGAME, CA — Law enforcement officers from across San Mateo County will gather on Wednesday to take part in a traffic safety operation. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The operation, which will be focused in the Burlingame and Hillsborough communities, is the latest in a series by The San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program, or STEP.

"The San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association are working together to collectively focus on reducing the number of injuries and traffic accidents throughout San Mateo County," STEP officials said in a news release.

Police said local residents shouldn't be surprised if they see police officers from other agencies enforcing vehicle code violations in Burlingame or Hillsborough.
