Nuts for The Nutcracker? Lots of Choices for Local Performances

The Nutcracker is an annual tradition for some Peninsula families. Many others have never seen the ballet, but intend to someday.

Sunday is a perfect day to make “some day” a reality, as performances of the Tchaikovsky classic will be performed in San Francisco, Redwood City and San Mateo.

The San Francisco Ballet will stage performances at 2 and 7 p.m. Twice a day performances continues through Christmas Eve, and then resume the 26th - 29th.

Peninsula Ballet Theatre will perform The Nutcracker Sunday and Monday at 2 p.m. in Redwood City. If you attend Monday’s performance, every child under 12 will receive a free Nutcracker ornament to remember their special day.

Bay Point Ballet will perform at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center at 2 p.m. The ballet company is holding a gift card drive to benefit the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford. Donations of any gift cards in any denomination are appreciated.
