Peninsula Assault Suspect Arrested After Months-Long Search: Police

The 20-year-old man had been sought since an alleged assault on April 22.

San Bruno, CA – Police in San Bruno have arrested a suspect in connection with an April assault with a deadly weapon.

Carlos Farias, 20, of San Bruno, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony assault and resisting arrest.

On April 22, officers with the San Bruno Police Department responded to a report of a felony assault in the 100 block of San Felipe Avenue.

The victim was an elderly person, and the suspect fled the area and was not located, police said.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect as Farias, and he was located Wednesday walking in the area of the Tanforan Mall, police said.

Farias tried to flee from officers on foot, but he was apprehended after a short chase, police said.
