Peninsula Man Arrested For East Bay Shooting

The victim's car was partially submerged in the Berkeley Marina following the shooting.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley Police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting back in July that sent one man to the hospital and left his car partially submerged in the Berkeley Marina.

Mateo Calvillo 32, of South San Francisco and Alan Garcia 25, of Richmond were arrested Tuesday following a long investigation. Calvillo is charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and two felony enhancements. Garcia is charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of cocaine for sale, and seven felony enhancements. Both men made their initial court appearances on Thursday.

The shooting occurred on July 29.
