Peninsula Resident Hurt Trying To Put Out Fire

Fire officials say the person was not only hurt, but displaced as well, following the Tuesday blaze. (breaking)

MILLBRAE, CA — A Millbrae resident was injured and displaced in a one-alarm residential structure fire this morning, a fire marshal for the Central County Fire Department said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a single-family dwelling in the 300 block of La Prenda at 6:58 a.m. and had arrived on scene by 7:04 a.m.

The resident called the fire in and attempted to put it out but suffered injuries in the process. The victim was transported to a hospital, but further details about their condition were not immediately available.

Crews remained at the scene until 10:22 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the house was red-tagged and deemed uninhabitable as a result of the damage.
