That city manager Jeff Maltbie didn't ask for $350,000 per year salary. He only asked for $226,526 which equals a 12.7% increase. His car allowance was a mere 100% increase. Then the lifetime employment insurance (my words) was the kicker. He is guaranteed one year salary if a future city council wishes to dismiss him. We can all thank these Council members / negotiators for representing what is best for the tax payers of San Carlos. Bob Grasseli, Mark Olbert, Ron Collins and Karen Clapper. If you are just now hearing about this subject matter you are not alone, Mary Monatlbano and I did our best as citizens waiting 5 hours till 12:10 AM to get the council to delay their vote on this issue so you could hear about it. Thank you to Council member Matt Grocott who made that very motion but failed to get a second. You might not have recognized this as this issue because it was described as Consideration of an amendment to Employment Agreement with Jeff D Maltbie and it was the very last item 10d on the agenda and that explains the 12:15am in the morning.
