San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Launches Online Jail Inmate Locator
Now you can find information related to most inmates who were arrested in Burlingame at the click of a few buttons.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA- For the first time ever, the public can now search online for information related to inmates jailed in San Mateo County, via a new tool courtesy of the sheriff's office.
The San Mateo County sheriff's office launched last week an online inmate locator tool, which can be accessed on the agency's main website: www.smcsheriff.com. Once there, you'll see a blue button on the upper right-hand side which says 'inmate locator' to take you to the application.
The site will provide users with most of the pertinent information related to an inmate's custody status, including the facility location, pending charges, next court date, and bail amount.

“The Sheriff’s Office is very excited about making this new tool available to the public," San Mateo County Undersheriff Carlos Bolanos said in a news release. "It’s simple to use and will provide real-time information on those who are in our safe custody with no delay.”
Sheriff's officials say they anticipate the new tool will reduce the hundreds of phone calls local jail workers receive daily.

"It will minimize the amount of time people are placed on hold and will also give our jail lobby staff more time to help those who walk into our lobbies," the agency said.
People who don't have access to the internet can still call the Maguire Correctional Facility at 650-363-4000 ext 6070 for inmate information.
