Serious Injuries Reported To Pedestrian In Alleged DUI Crash On ECR
Police say that a drunk driver hit a pedestrian in South San Francisco.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A pedestrian suffered major injuries when an alleged drunk driver hit him with his vehicle in South San Francisco early Sunday morning, according to police. The collision occurred shortly after 2:15 a.m. Sunday on northbound El Camino Real between Noor and South Spruce avenues, police said.
Timothy Staubitz, a 49-year-old San Francisco man, was driving his vehicle north when he struck the pedestrian in the No. 2 lane. He then left the scene before returning a few minutes later and admitting to being involved in the collision, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and suffered major injuries but is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators determined Staubitz was driving under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
