Survey: California Cities With the Ugliest Men, Women

Well this is unkind. A dating app compiled a list of eight US cities with the ugliest men--4 are in California. Women here fared better.

How can this be? We Californians take good care of ourselves--eating healthy foods, exercising, exfoliate this, wax that. So how is it possible that a dating app, Clover, thinks that California has more than our fair share of ugly men?

The company says it has “developed a proprietary scoring system able to accurately assess a person’s level of attractiveness.” Why? Because mutual attraction is important when choosing a mate.

When Clover says proprietary, they mean it. They haven’t said why they think men here are ugly, but look at this list:

Cities with the least attractive men

  1. Sunnyvale, CA
  2. The Bronx, NY
  3. Jersey City, NJ
  4. Providence, RI
  5. Anaheim, CA
  6. Long Beach, CA
  7. Detroit, MI
  8. Stockton, CA

With that many cities in the top 8, it’s only natural that the entire state ended near the bottom of the list:

  2. Delaware
  3. Connecticut
  4. New Jersey
  5. Maryland
  6. California
  7. New York
  8. Florida

Women here fared better. Just one city made the ugliest list:

Cities with the least attractive women

  1. Oklahoma City, OK
  2. Wichita, KS
  3. Oakland, CA
  4. Columbus, OH
  5. Colorado Springs, CO
  6. Forth Worth, TX
  7. Detroit, MI
  8. Amarillo, TX

With only one city on the list of least attractive women, California escaped the ugliest state list. For the record, here are the states:
