The FBI said the suspicious package intercepted in Burlingame was moved to a safe off-site location and rendered safe.

BURLINGAME, CA — Police on the Peninsula rendered a suspicious package safe on Friday after it was mailed to billionaire Tom Steyer in Burlingame, law enforcement officials said. The liberal who bankrolled an "impeach President Trump" campaign to the tune of millions of dollars appeared to be the latest target in a string of high-profile threats mailed to prominent Democrats across the nation, along with Sen. Kamala Harris who received a package in Sacramento.
The FBI's San Francisco officials confirmed on Twitter that "explosives technicians are on scene on at a USPS location on Rollins Road in Burlingame after receiving reports of a suspicious package."
The FBI later announced the suspicious package intercepted in Burlingame was moved to a safe off-site location after it was discovered and that it was rendered safe at about 1 p.m. Pacific time.

"We're thankful that everyone we work with is safe. We are seeing a systematic attack on our democracy that extends much further than just one isolated terrorist in Florida. That's why we are running an impeachment petition to end the culture of lawlessness in our country."
Federal and local authorities were also investigating a suspicious package addressed to Harris and intercepted at a mail facility in Sacramento Friday.
The FBI said in a statement on Twitter that the package arrived at the Colonial Post Office in Sacramento addressed to Harris and that bomb technicians have since rendered the package safe.
