Over recent years, more and more families in San Mateo County have been thrust into poverty. From the COVID-19 pandemic, to increasing wealth inequality, to the impacts of inflation and the housing crisis, the financial pressures on our neighbors have grown. In conjunction with Teen Read Week: Seek the Unknown and Halloween, the library is throwing an after-hours Zombie Party for teens on Friday, October 18th from 7-8:30pm. <a href="http://burlingame.bibliocommons.com/list/show/164363111_john_librarian/207366353_teen_zombie_party" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">HERE IS A LIST OF GOOD ZOMBIE BOOKS!</a> Teens will transform into zombies, shuffle around the library, participate in various zombie-related activities and snack on some spooky goodies. The party is open to those in 6th-12th grade.
