TRACK: Daley Caps Career with Solid State Showing
Burlingame standout pleased to set season-best mark in 300-meter hurdles in CIF preliminaries.

Allison Daley finished her sparkling Burlingame High career by recording a season-best time in the 300-meter hurdles in the preliminaries of the California Interscholastic Federation State Track and Field Championships on Friday night.
Daley, making her second straight state appearance, finished in 45.03 seconds to place 17th at Buchanan High in Clovis.
“It’s my last race … so I’m glad I ran a decent time,” said Daley, whose best 2011 time had been 45.18, which netted her second place in the Central Coast Section finals a week ago. “I’m happy with it.”

Daley, who took fourth at CCS as a junior and earned her state bid when runner-up Shanique Walker of Mt. Pleasant gave up her CIF spot, said that her primary goal for her senior year was to qualify on her own (with a top-three CCS finish).
“We went in this year with the mind-set that I would get to state again,” said Daley, who was also a standout soccer player at Burlingame. “I was excited that I made it on my own.”
