Transient Intentionally Sets SMC Fire, Police Say
Sheriff's officials say they arrested a woman on suspicion of arson.

MILLBRAE, CA — An area homeless woman is accused of purposely setting a fire in Millbrae on Tuesday. Sheriff's officials say the woman was caught shortly after sparking the blaze at Green Hills Park.
San Mateo County Sheriff's Det. Rosemerry Blankswade said policed were called around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday regarding the fire at the park and were told that a suspect was at the scene.
"Deputies arrived and quickly detained 38-year-old Norma Navarro who was identified by witnesses as being the person involved in starting the fire," Blankswade said in a news release. "Deputies conducted a thorough investigation and collected evidence that led to the arrest of Navarro."

Firefighters quickly put out the fire and no injuries were reported, according to authorities.
Navarro was booked into the Redwood City jail on suspicion of arson.
