Based on the memoir of ex-New York Times reporter, Michael Finkel— “True Story: Murder, Memoir, Mea Culpa” — the film tells a story of an accused murderer, Chris Longo, who assumes a disgraced reporter’s identity (Mike Finkel), and their intriguing co-dependent relationship.

Starring in the movie are James Franco and Jonah Hill as Longo and Finkel respectively, and Felicity Jones as Finkel’s wife.
