WARNING! You are being targeted by the County Vector Control Dist and pesticide corporations that are working together to create FEAR!

Parents and Pregnant Mothers, Protect Your Children!

Attention Menlo Park residents, You are being targeted by San Mateo County Vector Control District and pesticide corporations that are working together to create fear of dreaded mosquito born viruses that are of little or no significance. These same techniques were used here in Santa Clara County by our Vector Control so we formed a group called Healthy Alternatives to Pesticides (HAP) and are suing them in Superior Court for violations of law and personal rights. (For more info on our HAP group, please go to:

First, they notify you of a few suspicious mosquitoes and that they will step up their “surveillance” of these deadly varmints. In a February news release they stated “Yellow Fever mosquitoes were detected”, instead of their real name, Aedes aegypti. They went on to say that are capable of spreading diseases such as chikunguya, according to district officials. This is a cheap scare tactic to convince the public, wrongly, that pesticide fogging is required. This is called adulticide, and is the least effective means of controlling mosquitoes as well as the most dangerous to humans.

“Our concern is focused on what they ARE doing, their mass fogging of poison that all residents must breathe and the massive health threat, especially to fetuses, embryos and newborns and children. Here is an excerpt from an interrogatory letter we sent to Santa Clara County Vector Control which explains this tactic. Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, St. Louis Encephalitis (SLE), Malaria and many other tick and mosquito diseases are described in this document BUT they are not present here, so why are they in this document? Is this filler to intimidate people so they cannot get to the issues? This is said to be a document concerning Vector Control’s response to local conditions so why are all these diseases of other places and climates appearing here?” This Document Draft asserts:“When pesticides are used, they are applied in a manner that minimizes risk to human health and ecological health.”This is not so.In fact it is a flagrant lie. The broadcast fogging of a deadly pesticide does not “minimize risk” to anybody. Pesticides that mimic hormones can alter human processes in even the tiniest amounts. Pesticides that act on the nerves of insects act on the brains and nerves of humans as well.We now know that exposure to the class of pesticide being used the last several years (still not sure how many but at least three years) pyrethroid, even from drift from one mile distant applications is associated with an increased 60% autism spectrum disorder risk to babies born of mothers so exposed. (Environmental Health Perspective, June 24, 2014, the massive CHARGE Study, UC Davis Medical School.)

Last summer Vector Control exposed at least half of the entire valley to this autism spectrum disorder causing chemical. The rate of autism has increased in this county every year for the last 11 years just as the amount of fogging brain damaging chemicals have been increasing by Vector Control. P. 1-5: “Pursuant to Sections 2040-2045, the District may conduct all of the following activities:. . .(b) Take any and all necessary or proper actions to prevent the occurrence of vectors and vector-borne diseases.” Emphasis added.

So what is a “proper action?” Does it include poisoning half of the residents of the valley? Does this include causing brain damage to our children. Where is spreading a brain damaging chemical defined in law as a necessary or proper action? Does it include toxic trespass on everyone’s property and person? The California Constitution does not allow such an interpretation. It provides: “ARTICLE I DECLARATION OF RIGHTS (Inalienable Rights) SECTION 1, All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness and privacy. ”This primary, lead article in the California Constitution is clear. Those of us forced from our homes to avoid being poisoned have obviously had our rights to defend our lives, enjoy our lives, liberty to move about in the environment and liberty to inhabit our homes, to protect our property, and pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness, stolen from us by Vector Control. Nothing in enabling legislation says mass pesticide poisoning is “proper action.” Nothing in enabling legislation called mass pesticide poisoning “necessary action.” Keith E. Howe, D.C.
