BEING LIMITLESS: The Road to Writing a Novel, a Screenplay, and Everything In Between
The San Fernando Valley Branch of the California Writers Club welcomes writer and film maker Tané McClure as its keynote speaker on Saturday, September 19 at 1 pm at the Motion Picture and Television Fund Wasserman campus, (Saban Center) located at 23388 Mulholland Drive, in Woodland Hills.
McClure stands out as a multifaceted talent in the entertainment industry, but her achievements as a writer have become some of the most influential highlights of her career. With a portfolio that spans award-winning screenplays, acclaimed feature films, published novels, and even songwriting credits, McClure’s writing has left a significant mark on both the film and literary worlds.
Her most recent project, Ethan Almighty, is a family/faith drama feature film based on a true story. McClure wrote, produced, and directed the film, which stars a notable cast including Sean Patrick Flanery, Selma Blair, Kelsey Grammer, Brandon Routh, and Trevor Donovan. The film wrapped principal photography in June 2026 and is set for release in 2027 with Arclight Films Distribution and Sales.
McClure is also the writer and producer of the family film Kaitlyn’s Chance, featuring Sean Patrick Flanery, Jaime King, Jennifer Taylor, Samantha Rose Baldwin, and Shane Graham. The film is due for release before the end of 2026.
The next scheduled release for McClure is the action/thriller The Last Flare which she co- wrote and directed. This film is based on the true story of the fishing seiner A.C.E and its crew. It is expected to be released in 2027. This project further cements her reputation as a writer capable of handling powerful, real-life narratives. One of McClure's other works is the horror feature, Séance Games – Metaxu, which she co-wrote, directed, and produced. The film has already garnered over 37 festival awards, demonstrating her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with horror and thriller audiences. Its success in both domestic and international markets underscore the impact of her storytelling in multiple genres.
McClure also wrote, produced, and starred in the full-length feature film Trance which won the Best Fantasy Film award at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
Beyond screenwriting, McClure is the author of the book Rescue Heart: A Love Story, based on her award-winning feature film screenplay. She is currently working on the sequel, Rescue the Missing, which is the second installment of the Rescue Heart
trilogy and is set for release before the end of the year. Her transition from screen to page demonstrates her narrative strength across mediums.
In addition to her writing, Tané McClure has excelled as a director, producer, actress, and singer. Her film and television productions have earned over 60 film festival awards and 20nominations, including the LA Press Club National Journalism Award for LOVE BETTY&nbsp;WHITE: The Betty White Story.


Notable trivia: Tané McClure is the daughter of actor Doug McClure (The Virginian). She was a&nbsp;singer-songwriter and RCA Records recording artist, with songs featured in the Terminator&nbsp;soundtrack under the name Tané Cain. From award-winning films to published novels, her creative vision and storytelling prowess continue to inspire audiences and set new standards in the entertainment industry.

The evening of engagement and conversation will start indoors where guests will present self-introductions and tune in to guest speaker Dan Coleman, Business Growth &amp; Leadership Team Coach, all while enjoying a delicious buffet. Coleman will run a workshop on how to run a better business and improve one’s leadership skills.

Leonis Adobe Museum

The Leonis Adobe commemorates a very special milestone—the 60th anniversary of being open as Los Angeles’ first Historic-Cultural Monument. To mark this occasion, a celebratory ticketed event will be held on the museum grounds to honor the past and inspire future generations. Featuring a BBQ buffet from Old Town Calabasas neighbors, The Sagebrush Cantina, live music by the Cali Country Allstars, live and silent auctions hosted by Tony Shaw, and the premiere of the brand new Leonis Adobe Museum documentary by 4085 productions. Special honorees include former Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Principal City Planner, Ken Bernstein, for their contributions to history, culture, and preservation.
Tickets are on sale online for $65 per person for members, and $75 per person general admission.
