Hollywood Bowl Ticket Prices to Go Up
The County Board of Supervisors voted to raise ticket prices, mainly for the expensive box seats.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today approved ticket price increases for the 2016 Hollywood Bowl season, citing increased production costs.
Supervisor Sheila Kuehl said the brunt of the increase would hit concertgoers able to afford high-priced box seats.
“What we actually did ... is to keep tickets the same at the affordable end and, frankly, just sock it to the people in the boxes,” Kuehl said.

The association will continue to offer $1 tickets for the 380 top benches during classical and jazz performances on Tuesday through Thursday nights.
“There are really zero raises until you get into the $30 tickets, which are now $31,” Kuehl said.

Price increases for other seats range from $1-7 per regular event ticket, depending on the seat location.
Special event tickets for the highest priced garden and pool circle boxes will be hit hardest, with a $10 jump to $330 each.
Labor, marketing, artists’ fees and other production costs have gone up, necessitating higher prices for some seats, according to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, which operates the iconic amphitheater.
The association held the cost of parking to 2015 levels, which range from $1 to $50 for those who want valet parking.
