• Congressman Raul Ruiz opposes proposed Imperial County data center project (kyma.com) — Calipatria has joined other Imperial Valley cities in placing moratoriums or bans on hyperscale data centers, as a major project proposal faces growing opposition. Congressman Raul Ruiz now publicly opposes the Imperial County project, citing worries about water, energy costs, pollution, and impacts on under-resourced local communities, and is exploring possible federal rules on where and how such centers can operate.
