Armed Man Threatens To Kill People, Police; Search Underway: SJPD
Dustin Hamilton, a transient, is accused in a Willow Glen burglary and of making criminal threats against law enforcement and the public.

SAN JOSE, CA — Police in San Jose appealed to the public Thursday for information about the whereabouts of a transient wanted in connection with a burglary Wednesday in Willow Glen and making threats against law enforcement and the public. Dustin Hamilton, 44, has a warrant out for his arrest and is believed to be armed, according to San Jose PD Sgt. Enrique Garcia.
The sergeant said San Jose police responded at about 10:14 p.m. Wednesday to the 1600 block of Husted Avenue to investigate a report of burglary.
"Further investigation revealed suspect Dustin Hamilton stole firearms from a residence and made threats to kill people in the City of San Francisco and any law enforcement personnel," Garcia said in a news release Thursday. "The San Jose Police Department immediately notified the San Francisco Police Department. Both agencies are actively conducting follow-up investigation to locate the suspect."

San Jose police detectives have since obtained a felony arrest warrant for Hamilton on suspicion of burglary and threats and firearms possession in connection with Wednesday incident, Garcia said.

Hamilton also has two outstanding felony warrants out of San Francisco for assault and vandalism, the sergeant said.
