Campbell Union High School District School Board Approves New Teacher Contract
The salary increase is retroactive to Aug. 1, 2016.

CAMPBELL, CA – The Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) board of trustees approved a new, two-year contract with the Campbell High School Teachers Association (CHSTA) last week.
The agreement features a 6% salary increase for the 2016-17 school year and is retroactive to August 1, 2016.

“The most valuable asset our district has is its people,” said CUHSD Superintendent Robert Bravo. “It’s my goal to have a positive, collaborative relationship with all bargaining units and employees, and I feel that this is the beginning of a new, positive relationship. I look forward to continuing to work together with CHSTA.”
Kim McCarthy, a social science teacher at Prospect High School who sits on the CHSTA executive board, also expressed optimism.

“We’re very pleased to share that our membership has ratified the contract agreement through a unanimous vote,” said McCarthy. “We’re optimistic and enthusiastic about a more collaborative approach to future negotiations.”
CUHSD’s Chief Human Resources Officer Meredyth Hudson said the teacher’s union and the district’s administrative team also agreed to attend joint trainings on collaborative negotiation techniques to demonstrate their commitment toward this new beginning.
“We have an ongoing partnership with our teachers,” said Hudson, “and investing in our employees is the best way to retain talent and foster mutual trust and respect.”
