Big Screen Sundays at the Children's Discovery Museum

The Children's Discovery Museum in downtown San Jose offers a potpourri of programs including drop-in workshops, live performances, and films in The Lee and Diane Brandenburg Theatre and outdoor Cadence Amphitheatre.

Sundays in February and March are Big Screen Sundays, where the museum makes a film experience even better with an activity inspired by the film you will see.

In February celebrate the slips and slides and swims and glides of delightful penguins in poetry and song, with "Antarctic Antics" featuring music by Scotty Huff and Robert Reynolds and featuring the poems of Judy Sierra. After watching the film, we'll try singing along! Then, in March the museum presents, Changes, Changes. Pat Hutchins' book comes to life as two enterprising wooden dolls solve a series of problems by arranging and rearranging a set of wooden blocks. Charming illustrations and a score performed solely on wooden instruments create a non-verbal classic. An activity inspired by the film will follow, and then you can take your inspiration to a new scale in the Museum's "Imagination Playground!"
