The text known as ‘The Abbreviated Points of the Lam Rim’, commonly referred to as ‘Songs of Experience’ was composed by the great founder of the Gelug lineage Lama Je Tsongkhapa. Je Tsongkhpa composed Great, Middling and Abbreviated Lam Rim’s and this is the Abbreviated one. A Lam Rim (Stages of Path) is a way of presenting the entirety of the Buddha’s teachings in a coherent, step by step manner that allows the student to make gradual, yet steady progress along the Path to Enlightenment.
