This tour of both home and non-residential gardens showcases landscapes featuring California native plants.

On Saturday April 18th, gardens in the more ‘southern’ part of the area will be open for tours (Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, San Jose, etc.).

Sunday April 19th will feature gardens in the more ‘northern’ section of the region, such as Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, etc.).

For specific information on dates/locations, and to register for the tour, go to the tour website at:

www.gngt.org

Registration is free, and is required in order to receive a map of the garden sites.

Each tour features dozens of gardens, most of them at private homes – these are open on tour day in a “do-it-yourself”, open house format. Some gardens will also feature speakers, authors of gardening books, and/or native plant sales. These details are available on the website. Anyone interested in the native plant sales should be prepared to pay by cash or check.

Gardens on the tour demonstrate reduced water use, reduced chemical and pesticide use, improved fauna habitat, and the unique aesthetic appeal of gardens designed with California native plants.

Visitors to these gardens can see examples of gardens that are lovely to look at, yet still conserve water, and provide increased safety for family and pets by avoiding use of pesticides. In addition, these gardens are attractive to birds and butterflies, and are low maintenance.

Gardens range from town home gardens to acre lots, from newly planted gardens to established ones. Visit as many as you like – for photos, for inspiration, for information, and for meeting other gardening enthusiasts.
