SCCLD Library District presents the 2015 Ready to Read Family Concertseries with musician and author, Jim Gill. Jim is a child development specialist whose fun performances emphasize the five Ready to Read practices -- singing, reading, writing, playing and talking.
The songs featured are really games for the whole family to play along with. It is easy to see children moving their bodies to the beat, but it is also a time for them to actively listen to cues and hear sounds in words which will help them with READING!

Jim Gill is a musician and author with unique credentials among children’s artists. Jim is a child development specialist, completing his graduate studies in child development at the Erikson Institute of Chicago with a special emphasis on the study of play. Jim’s recordings and books are opportunities for playful interactions between a child and a caring adult. The family concerts are not simply performances, but rather a time for the children and parents to sing, play and learn together.
