Mark Your Calendar: Popular Egyptian Festival Expanding

Folklore performances. Family entertainment. And baklava!

Announcement from Egyptian Festival of Campbell:

It’s time for Campbell’s annual Egyptian Festival! Growing interest and attendance for the Egyptian Festival of Campbell, CA has created the need for expanded operating hours and new entertainment! This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, August 22nd , 5:00pm – 9:00pm, Saturday August 23rd , 10:00am – 9:00pm, and Sunday, August 24th, 11:00am – 5:00pm. The event will be held at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church located at 395 W. Rincon Ave., Campbell, CA 95008. There is a $2.00 per person admission fee, children under 12 admitted for free.

The King Tut Buffet will feature traditional Egyptian dishes including grilled meats, sandwiches, wraps, vegetarian dishes, and more. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Karnak Café featuring delicious Egyptian desserts including baklava, konafa, basboosa, and other delicacies.

There is a Sphinx Playground for family entertainment with games, face painting, and other activities. Experience Egyptian culture through folklore performances, scheduled throughout the weekend. Browse the Nefertiti Bazaar for Egyptian souvenirs, and stroll through the different Egyptian regions, walking like an Egyptian!

The St. George Coptic Orthodox of Campbell is the sponsor of the event and Church tours are regularly conducted, including a historical perspective of the church dating back to the early days of Christianity. An overview of the newly built church is available detailing the church sanctuary completed in June 2014. This beautiful cathedral is the 1st Coptic Orthodox church to be built from the ground up in Northern California. It is a must see site. All proceeds from the festival go towards the building fund.

There is a raffle at the festival, and the top prize is a 2015 Kia Rio (or 50% of net cash collected). The holder of the lucky raffle ticket will be selected and announced on the last day of the event; tickets are $10 each.
