Medical Marijuana Ballot Measures Being Decided During Campbell Special Election

Campbell residents are voting Tuesday in a special election on three ballot measures regarding medical marijuana dispensaries.

CAMPBELL, CA -- Campbell residents are voting today in a special election on three ballot measures regarding medical marijuana, with one allowing dispensaries in the city, one banning them for two years and the third levying taxes on any dispensaries established.

Measure A would levy a business tax on marijuana businesses that deliver medical marijuana or that might operate in Campbell in the future.

Measure B is a citizen's initiative that would allow for three medical marijuana dispensaries in Campbell.

Measure C was placed on the ballot in response to Measure B and would institute a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city until April 1, 2019.

The goal of Measure C is to allow the city time to study the need for such dispensaries and the safest way to regulate them. Measures B and C don't affect medical marijuana use in the city and qualified patients may continue to use it there.
