Customer service has not been affected by the leak, she said.

Tostado emphasized the importance of the public calling 811 prior to any digging project to allow utility companies to mark any utility lines in the area. Tostado did not know if the site of today’s leak was marked.

Ten firefighters from the Santa Clara County Fire Department have also responded to the scene, fire spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler said.
