SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Ten cars were burglarized in Santa Cruz County Monday night, sheriff’s office officials said. The cars were parked between Live Oak and Aptos when they were hit. Investigators are working to find surveillance footage between 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the targeted areas of the county.

"Deputies were able to recover some of the stolen items behind a building in the 800 block of 41st Avenue," sheriff’s officials said.

Officials remind residents to lock car doors and avoid leaving any valuables inside. Officials said criminals are more likely to target a car if valuables are left where they may be seen.
