Biking With Loaded Gun: Capitola Suspect Arrested
With the aid of a citizen, a deputy tackled the man as he tried fleeing the scene, officials said.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – A Capitola man was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly carrying a loaded gun, officials said.
Riccardo Delacruz, 26, was riding a bicycle at 2:40 p.m. when a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputy tried stopping him at the intersection of 38th Avenue and Reposa Avenue, the agency said.
"Delacruz immediately tried to flee and began reaching into his waistband," deputies said. "With the help of a community member, the Sergeant was able to tackle Delacruz to the ground where a loaded firearm was discovered."

Delacruz was arrested for suspected possession of a concealed firearm, resisting arrest and a probation violation, and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail, the department said.
Deputies said the incident was the third firearm arrest made by the sheriff’s office, and reportedly tied to gang members, in the Live Oak area since March 1.
