Council to Plan Parking Structure, Discuss Hotel Tax
Could a parking structure finally be on its way to Capitola Village?

The Capitola City Council is back in action Thursday night. Mayor Mike Termini is taking a break from to get a few things done at city hall.
Included on this week's agenda are the hotel tax, a parking structure and plenty more.
Here are the expected highlights of Thursday's meeting:

- Patti Wakefield will be honored with a mayor's proclamation for 22 years of service to the City of Capitola.
- On the Consent Calendar, the council is expected to grant Wakefield early retirement.
- The council will discuss putting an increase of the hotel tax from its current rate of 10 percent on the Nov. 6 ballot. In that same hearing, they will discuss the option of allowing councilmembers to file written arguments for or against the measure, should it appear on the ballot.
- It is expected that the council will approve preliminary plans for a parking structure in the lower Pacific Cove Parking lot and discuss an environmental review of the proposed project.
