Giants Fan Bryan Stow Continues 'Miraculous' Recovery With the Help of Family
His life is filled with activity and love, a world removed from the parking lot of Dodgers Stadium where he was savagely beaten.

Bryan Stow’s life was forever changed when the Giant’s fan was severely beaten outside Dodgers Stadium on opening day four years ago. He spent months in a coma, with a brain injury so severe his survival was in doubt. A new photo showing him throwing a baseball in his backyard will warm the hearts of the multitude of strangers who’ve cheered him on from afar.

And he’s not just tossing around a ball. Stow also swims and gets around with a walker. His short term memory is improving, and he has a positive outlook.
Stow’s neurosurgeon at San Francisco General Hospital, Geoffrey Manley, told the Santa Cruz Sentinel that Stow’s family--parents Dave and Ann, and sisters Erin and Bonnie--have been unwavering in their support of Stow. “They always stayed extremely cooperative and positive and hopeful,” he said. “It was a journey we took together — let’s keep trying, let’s keep trying.

And so Stow keeps trying, with the help of his family, astounding doctors who call his recovery a miracle.
Stow’s children are now 16 and 12. They live with their mother in Scotts Valley.
