The victim was struck on Soquel Drive and Capitola Avenue in an unincorporated county area north of state Highway 1.

A vehicle struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in a crosswalk in the Soquel area of Santa Cruz County on Sunday, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
At about 8:40 p.m. Sunday, the CHP received a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Soquel Drive and Capitola Avenue in an unincorporated county area several blocks north of state Highway 1, CHP Officer Brad Sadek said.
A 71-year-old Aptos man was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier west on Soquel Drive in the slow lane when an 18-year-old male Santa Cruz resident, who was in a marked crosswalk, walked into the path of the car, Sadek said.
