Recognize This Car? Police Suspect It Was Involved In Fatal Hit-and-Run

Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Cruz police.

Santa Cruz police are searching for a suspect vehicle in connection with a hit and run that killed a woman early Wednesday morning.

The collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. on northbound state Highway 1 at River Street, according to police. Arriving officers found a woman, later identified as Santa Cruz resident Dene Diannthe Shaw, 59, on the roadway.

Emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police have released an image from a surveillance camera in the area of a silver-colored suspect vehicle, and report that the vehicle would have sustained some damage. The collision remains under investigation.
