Two Arrested In Connection With Scotts Valley Break-In
A female 33, of Santa Cruz, and a male, 28, of Aptos were apprehended Friday.

Police on Friday arrested two people in connection with a Sunday commercial burglary in Scotts Valley. Katie Bernice Hungate, 33, of Santa Cruz, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and theft by unauthorized use of a credit card.
Ryan Ellis Roby, 28, of Aptos, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, felony vandalism, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, possession of a controlled substance and theft by unauthorized use of a credit card.
Officers on Sunday responded at a report of a commercial burglary at the Scotts Valley Executive Center at 5521 Scotts Valley Drive.

Police said two suspects entered the business overnight and burglarized several office suites, taking computer equipment, a small amount of cash and several credit cards.
The suspects used a crowbar to gain entry into the suites. Within hours of the burglary, the suspects started using the stolen credit cards throughout Santa Cruz County, police said. Investigators were able to identify the female suspect as Hungate through video surveillance captured at the scene of the burglary, police said.

Officers served a search warrant at Hungate’s residence and found evidence connecting her to the burglary and drug paraphernalia. Investigators were also able to identify Roby as the second suspect in the burglary, police said.
Officers then served a search warrant at Roby’s residence and located stolen property from the burglary, narcotics, a modified short-barrel shotgun and other evidence linking him to the crime scene, police said.
