Woman Killed In Hwy 129 Crash In Santa Cruz Co.
The deceased driver was from Gilroy. A motorist from Watsonville, also involved in accident, suffered moderate injuries, officials said.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – A 40-year-old Gilroy woman died in a multiple-vehicle traffic collision in unincorporated Santa Cruz County east of Watsonville on Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the woman was driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima west on state Highway 129 west of Rogge Lane around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. She then lost control, hit the outside guardrail of the right-hand shoulder, crossed over the double-yellow lines and was broadsided by a 2003 Dodge pickup truck.
CHP officials did not say whether the woman died at the scene or a hospital. Her identity hasn't yet been released.

The driver of the pickup, a 65-year-old man from Watsonville, suffered moderate injuries, including lacerations to his face and body, according to the CHP.
CHP officials said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.

On Wednesday, the agency advised drivers that delays were expected as both directions of SR-129 were blocked for the fatal collision.
