Carlsbad Police Investigate Juvenile Altercation

CARLSBAD, CA — Officials are investigating a physical altercation involving juveniles at a Carlsbad park after the incident circulated on social media, authorities said.
The physical altercation happened at Poinsettia Park, though a date and time were not provided. Police became aware of the incident and began working with school officials to review what happened, according to the Carlsbad Police Department.
A police report has been filed, and detectives are working with school officials and the parents of the juveniles involved as part of an ongoing investigation.

"The Carlsbad Police Department and Carlsbad Unified School District take incidents involving accusations of bullying, harassment, and discriminatory language that may be deemed as a hate crime seriously," the department said in a statement. "We are committed to ensuring all members of our community, especially students, feel safe and respected."
