Carlsbad Teen's Singing to be Heard on Space Shuttle Endeavour
A Carlsbad High student lends her vocals to a song recorded by three San Diego area musicians that will be played to astronauts aboard the space shuttle Endeavour.

Carlsbad High sophomore and member Natalya Phillips provided back-up vocals for a song her father Carlsbad-based musician Allan Phillips wrote in in 1997. That song, "Luna Llena," will serve as the astronauts' wake-up call, reports 760kfmb.com.
The song's lyrics are by Jose Molina Serrano of La Mesa and San Diego resident Joaquin "Quino" McWhinney performed the song. Both Serrano and McWhinney flew out to witness the Endeavour's launch in person.
However, Friday morning NASA postponed the final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour at least 72 hours to investigate the failure of a key piece of technical equipment.
