Carlsbad's Leo Carrillo Ranch To Host Free Classic Movie Nights This Summer
The festival will feature films from Hollywood's Golden Age.
CARLSBAD, CA — Moviegoers can watch classic films under the stars this summer as the Leo Carrillo Ranch Film Festival returns with three free outdoor screenings.
The city of Carlsbad will host the free outdoor film series on Aug. 21, Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park.
The festival will feature films from Hollywood's Golden Age, including movies starring actor and ranch owner Leo Carrillo, as well as films inspired by his legacy.

The ranch will open at 6 p.m., allowing visitors to explore the historic property and tour the Hacienda before sunset. Screenings will begin at sunset and may include an episode of "The Cisco Kid" before the featured film.
This year's lineup includes "Manhattan Merry Go Round" on Aug. 21, "Under Western Skies" on Aug. 28 and "Casablanca" on Sept. 4.

Guests can purchase snacks and beverages at the event and are encouraged to bring blankets, low-back chairs, warm clothing and flashlights.
Admission is free, but reservations are required. Tickets are limited to two per person and are available while supplies last.
The festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park at 6200 Flying Leo Carrillo Lane in Carlsbad.
