CARLSBAD, CA — Patch reader and Ramona resident Nancy Long submitted this photo she took a couple of Christmases ago near Carlsbad.

"We were taking family pics and I just turned and snapped some pics of the surf with my iPhone," she said. "Later I discovered I'd captured a unique moment!"
