So, what does this mean, exactly? Well, you probably sort your garbage into different piles for recycling. We all know that conserving as much as we can is better for the environment. We all try to make our own conservation efforts, including not littering, avoiding overwatering, turning off the lights when we leave a room, etc. What about your pool water? Not every pool owner knows this, but typically a pool should be drained once every three years. Or in our case, purified and recycled.
Why should a pool be drained or purified? Primarily, due to calcium build up. Calcium starts attaching itself everywhere, the pool surface, walls, ornamental tile, but most importantly, your pool equipment. It can cause equipment to malfunction or not work properly. It can also cause some equipment warranties to become invalid. So, if you don't want to use the Puripool process or drain your pool, what is your option for fighting calcium? There isn’t one. In addition to calcium problems, you are also facing increased numbers of total dissolved solids. Now, this is almost everything that has ever gone in your pool. Hygienically speaking, you want to keep that number pretty low.
So, why not just drain your pool then? A couple of reasons; first, because it is safer all around to purify the existing water. An empty pool is a volatile pool. Empty pools have been known to crack, dislodge from their existing location or have equipment failures due to breaking pipes. The main reason? It is better for the environment. The technology we are using, reverse osmosis, is not new, but having a mobile unit, strictly for pool purification is. We come to your home, set up our trailer and hoses going to your pool, and the next day, your pool will be cleaner than your tap water. That's it. If you have a 25 thousand gallon pool, we save approximately 85% of your pool's water. That means you have saved over 20,000 gallons of "dirty" water from being flushed down into the sewers and ocean. So, how much does this process cost? About the same as if you were to drain your pool, but without all the hassle. We take care of it all, from start to finish. Also, water prices are (again!) on the rise so that should also be a consideration. Let's face it, it also feels pretty great to do something good for Mother Earth!
A bit of information and some numbers for you to contemplate: So far, we have already recycled over 10 MILLION gallons of pool water! We, here at Pool Services Technologies, are pretty proud of that. So, who are we, exactly? A local North County Company started by an Escondido Native and a Bonsall Native. They had a great idea and followed through on it in the best possible way. PST is now based out of San Marcos but serves all of San Diego County. In addition to pool purification, we also offer regular pool service and maintenance in North County, equipment repair, pool design, custom patio and barbecue design, parts, equipment and chemical supply, an online catalog, pressure washing and maintenance. We also offer a monthly service where the pool purification is offered as needed.
