Earthquake Shakes Borrego Springs Area

BORREGO SPRINGS, CA — A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck in San Diego County Monday morning, centered 9.6 miles north of Borrego Springs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit the region at 11:42 a.m., and was logged with a depth of 4.3 kilometers, or about 2.6 miles, the agency said.

No damage or injuries were reported.

Borrego Springs, home to the Anza-Borrego State Park, is just south of the Riverside County line.
