Carols of Carlsbad

La Costa Resort and Spa's main plaza will be transformed on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 3-5 p.m. as students from a variety of Carlsbad public schools perform choral and instrumental holiday numbers to celebrate the season while highlighting the importance of K-12 music classes. La Costa will provide holiday refreshments, arts and crafts, and a special tree-lighting ceremony and group caroling session at dusk.

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation has been funding weekly music classes for all 5,000 elementary school students since September of 2009. This special event offers a unique venue for student performers to highlight their talent while emphasizing the critical role that music education plays in public schools.

"We are really excited to partner with La Costa Resort and Spa this holiday season," says Valin Brown, CEO of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. "The 'Carols of Carlsbad' event is a natural fit where students and their families are excited to perform in a festive outdoor venue at a landmark resort which supports and values the importance of education."
