This popular lecture series kicks off with an in-depth look at Puccini's "Turandot," the San Diego Opera's 2011 season opener.
Each lecture features a visual presentation, music selections and expert commentary by Dr. Ron Shaheen, adjunct assistant professor of music at the University of San Diego, on the history, musical style and story behind each production.

- March 5: The Art of the Opera Singer.
- April 2: der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss.
- April 23: Faust by Charles Gounod.
- May 14: Carmen by Georges Bizet.
Tickets for each lecture are distributed at 9:15 a.m. Doors open at 9:40 a.m.
