As part of its Global Spotlight Concert Series, which celebrates the diversity of music from around the world, the Museum of Making Music presents kora virtuoso Amadou Fall and guitarist Ibrahima Ba. As a native of Senegal, West Africa, Fall played with several well-known Senegalese musicians before moving to California. Fall has been playing the kora – a 21-stringed, harp-like instrument made from fishing line, wood, gourd and cow skin – for more than 20 years and is also a guitarist.
Tickets for the event are $25 for general admission, $20 for Museum members and $18 for students. For tickets, please order online at http://www.MuseumofMakingMusic.com or call 760/438-5996.
