CARLSBAD, CA — The colorful flowers at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch will be open to the public a little longer this year.

The 2023 season was set to end on Mother's Day but will now run through May 21, the team at The Flower Fields announced Monday.

The Flower Fields feature nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus, a flower known for its large, double-petaled blooms that sit atop tall, straight stems. There are roughly 30 acres still in bloom, according to the ranch. The Sea of Sunflowers, a five-acre patch featuring all colors, shapes and sizes of sunflowers, is also still in bloom and opened last week.
